I hate computers. I was using an old (really old) itty bitty laptop to work on my nano entry, and have several thousand words written. But I can't get it to my nano page. Why? Because the floppy disk drive on the wannabe itty bitty laptop tells me that I need to format the brand new (already formatted!) floppy disk I tried to save my work to. This little wannabe computer cannot hook up to the net, so I need to port my work to the "real" computer...the one that is wired. Fine. Be persnickety. Format the damn disk. Save the file. Pop the disk out, carry it over to the net-connected comp, insert disk. Get the message "the disk in this drive is not formatted; do you want to format? yes / no "
ARGH!!!!
I hate computers. All that work, lost. I may as well start the whole thing over from scratch again.
*sigh*

Is it NaNoWriMo time again already?
I'm looking at the calendar and wondering where the year went. It's nearly mid-October, closing in on my birthday, and that means it's just a couple of weeks until the 2007 NaNoWriMo starts. I am signed up for it, of course. At least this year I am ready BEFORE the whole thing starts. Last year I petered out, mostly because I signed up late and on a whim of the moment. This year I am prepared ... as in, I am aware the beginning of November is approaching, and I am at least thinking about what I might want to write about. Actually KNOWING what I will be writing about is something totally different. I fully expect I will surprise myself when the mad month actually begins, because as of this moment ...
I have no frickin' ideas at all.
Should make for an interesting novel. I wonder if stream-of-consciousness writing counts....

It's suppposed to be spring, right?
It should be the middle of spring, but we had 6 inches of snow yesterday. Thankfully the sun is out and busy melting the stuff--because I threw out two of the snow shovels we've had for years that were mangled enough to be useless for either shoveling snow or chopping ice. I think it's the chopping that finally did them in.
I really need to move someplace where it's warm year round.
